  2. Sun Damage
  3. Vascular Lesions (angiomas, spider veins, port wine stains, Hemangiomas, telangliectasias)
  4. Rosacea (redness)
  5. Freckles
  6. Uneven Skin Tone (Dyschromia)

  11.  Excessive Hair

How it Works

Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body. The most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun. These often include the face, neck, decolletage, legs, hands , arms and body. During treatment there will be a bright flash of light from the Lumecca that feels like a light elastic sensation. Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subsides within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of skin tone. After treating vascular lesions you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.

FAQs:

WHAT STEPS MUST BE TAKEN BEFORE THE PROCEDURE? Avoid direct, excessive sun exposure or tanning one month prior to treatment.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED? A series of 4–6 treatments is usually prescribed. The energy parameters are gentle, keeping in mind our desire for a non-invasive, no down-time method of rejuvenation. The energy is, however, increased with each visit to progressively treat deeper or larger targets. An improved skin appearance can be noted after the first session and multiple sessions provide even better results. Treatment regime’s depend on the severity of skin damage, type of treatment (vascular vs sun damage) and energy settings. While even a single treatment can produce visible results, most clients will need up to five treatments – which can be spaced three weeks apart – to achieve the greatest benefits of the IPL Phototherapy procedure.

IS LUMMECCA PERMANET? Lumecca is an IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), non-invasive treatment to remove age spots, sun spots, brown spots, and liver spots. … Lumecca’s unique technology allows it effectively remove age spots permanently, without harming the surrounding skin.

HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE RESULTS? Sun damage and skin complexion results can be seen a few days after the first session. The skin will continue to look younger and more brilliant over time with most visible results after 1-2 weeks. Having multiple photofacial sessions will improve the final result. For vascular treatments such as spider or leg veins, results can be seen immediately in up to 2 weeks.

WHAT WILL THE RESULTS BE LIKE? Initially you may notice some redness, which will disappear after a few hours. However, your pigmentation may appear darker for several days before it fades. Once the redness dissipates, your skin will appear firmer and more evenly textured and fine lines will be reduced or eliminated. Pores will appear smaller and tiny vessels that cause redness will be less noticeable. Increased production of collagen will also help your skin appear firmer and more resilient over time.

HOW IS THE TREATMENT DONE?A layer of cooling gel is applied over the affected area, and the patient dons protective goggles. A small handpiece is placed gently on the skin and the light is transmitted in pulses controlled by the operator to cover the area of desired treatment. The sensation with each pulse of the laser is like the snapping of a rubber band over the skin, and is generally well tolerated without the use of any analgesia. However, a topical anesthetic can be applied prior to treatment.

A typical treatment over the entire face takes about 20 minutes. After the treatment, the gel is wiped off and routine activities can resume.

There may be mild redness which is generally short-lived, and areas of pigmentation can become darker before sloughing off in a week’s time. Treatments are generally spaced three weeks apart, with results starting to show after the first or second treatment.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS? Most patients do not experience any side effects and any skin reaction usually resolves within a few hours. Patients may find they are sensitive to sunlight immediately after treatment. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF IPL OVER OTHER SIMILAR TREATMENTS?
