Post-Cosmetic Botox Care Instructions

Thank you for trusting Aspire Care Clinic for your Botox treatment! To ensure the best possible results and a smooth recovery, please follow these aftercare guidelines:

Immediately After Treatment

  • Avoid touching the treated area: Refrain from massaging or rubbing the treated area for at least 4 hours after your Botox injection.
  • Avoid makeup: Do not apply makeup to the treated areas for 24 hours after treatment to minimize the risk of infection.
  • Stay upright: For the first 4 hours, avoid lying down or bending over excessively. This will help prevent the Botox from migrating to unintended areas.

General Aftercare Guidelines

  • Swelling & Redness: Mild redness, swelling, or tenderness at the injection sites is normal and should resolve within a few hours. To reduce any discomfort:
    • Cold compresses can be applied for 15 minutes at a time, but avoid applying ice directly to the skin.
    • Arnica gel or cream can be applied to reduce any bruising.
  • Bruising: Small bruises are common, but they usually resolve within 5-10 days. If bruising occurs, you may use makeup to cover it once any swelling has subsided.
  • Exercise: Avoid intense physical activity, including cardio and weight training, for 24 hours after your Botox treatment to minimize the risk of swelling or bruising.

Things to Avoid

  • Heat and Steam: Avoid heat exposure, such as saunas, hot tubs, or direct sunlight, for 48 hours after your Botox injection.
  • Alcohol: Avoid consuming alcohol for 24 hours after your Botox treatment, as it can increase the risk of bruising.
  • Facial Massages or Facials: Refrain from facials, deep massages, or any treatments involving pressure to the face for 2 weeks after Botox.
  • Aspirin & Anti-Inflammatory Medications: For 24 hours, avoid taking aspirin, ibuprofen, or any anti-inflammatory medications, as they can increase the risk of bruising.

When to Seek Medical Attention

  • Severe swelling or bruising that doesn’t improve after 5-10 days.
  • Signs of infection (e.g., increased redness, warmth, or discharge).
  • Difficulty swallowing or breathing, which could be a rare sign of an adverse reaction. If this occurs, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Any concerns or if you experience unexpected reactions, please contact us immediately.

Results & Longevity

  • Onset of Results: Botox results usually begin to appear within 3-5 days, with full effects visible after 7-10 days. The results last around 3-4 months.
  • Maintenance: To maintain results, repeat treatments are typically needed every 3-4 months, but this can vary based on your specific needs.
