Dermal Filler Injection Aftercare Instructions

Thank you for trusting Aspire Care Clinic for your Botox treatment! To ensure the best possible results and a smooth recovery, please follow these aftercare guidelines:

Immediately After Treatment

  • Avoid touching the treated area: Refrain from touching, pressing, or massaging the treated area for at least 6 hours after your injection to reduce the risk of infection or complications.
  • Keep the area clean: Use a gentle cleanser if needed, but avoid harsh exfoliants or scrubs for 24 hours.
  • Avoid makeup: Please do not apply makeup to the treated area for 24 hours after your treatment to minimize the risk of infection.

General Aftercare Guidelines

  • Swelling & Bruising: Mild swelling, redness, or bruising is common and should subside within 3-7 days. To reduce swelling:
    • Apply a cold compress for 15-20 minutes at a time during the first 24 hours.
    • Avoid heat treatments (e.g., saunas, hot tubs) for 48 hours.
    • Arnica gel or cream can help reduce bruising.
  • Pain or Tenderness: Mild discomfort or tenderness is normal. You may take Tylenol (acetaminophen) to relieve pain, but avoid aspirin or ibuprofen for 24 hours as they may increase bruising.

Things to Avoid

  • Exercise: Avoid strenuous activity and exercise for 24-48 hours after treatment to prevent excess swelling and help the filler settle.
  • Sun Exposure: Protect the treated area from direct sunlight, tanning beds, or extreme temperatures for 1 week. Use a high SPF sunscreen.
  • Alcohol & Smoking: Limit alcohol consumption for 24 hours, and avoid smoking for 24-48 hours to help with healing and reduce complications.
  • Facial Massage & Dental Work: Avoid any deep facial massage, facials, or dental procedures (e.g., teeth cleaning or extractions) for 2 weeks after treatment.

When to Seek Medical Attention

  • Severe swelling or bruising that doesn’t improve after 5-10 days.
  • Signs of infection (e.g., increased redness, warmth, or discharge).
  • Difficulty swallowing or breathing, which could be a rare sign of an adverse reaction. If this occurs, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Any concerns or if you experience unexpected reactions, please contact us immediately.

Results & Longevity

  • Immediate Results: You may notice immediate improvement, but the full effects will settle in 1-2 weeks as swelling subsides.
  • Longevity: Results can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years, depending on the filler used, your skin type, and lifestyle factors.
